HMCS Huron Association 2010 Reunion

The HMCS Huron Association's 2010 Reunion will be held in Ottawa, Ontario from Monday, September 13 - through Thursday, September 16. A group of our Ottawa & area members stepped up and volunteered to host our Reunion. With it being the 100th Anniversary of the Royal Canadian Navy, it will be a great location. Our host hotel will again be the Chimo Hotel. Our Reunion Committee has lined up a good week for us - hoping to see all of you there. The itinerary for the Reunion is included in the September newsletter.

Not a member but would like to attend the reunion? Full membership is open to any Huron personnel. Didn't serve in the Huron, but would like to join our group. Not a problem - Associate membership has recently been opened up to include any ship's personnel - just e-mail the website and request membership information. An application for membership will be sent by e-mail for you to complete and mail to our Membership Chairman. Check out the Enlist page for membership requirements.

HMCS Huron Association 2009 Reunion
Chatham, Ontario

Wow, the 2009 Reunion was a great time! There were approximately 56 people in attendance over the course of four days. Once again, the Wheels Inn proved to be an excellent location, offering our guests the use of the hospitality suite for visiting, as well as the atrium activities including ping-pong, shuffleboard and pool tables. Our members enjoyed supper Monday evening at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 628, and attended the RM Car Museum on Tuesday afternoon. The day was beautiful for our Memorial Service and wreath laying at the Anchor in the RCL Gardens in downtown Chatham. Our annual banquet followed held in the Wedgewood Room at the Wheels. Entertainment was provided by Cloud Nine DJ Services and was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Our farewell breakfast was held on Thursday morning, where we said our good-byes and promised to meet again in Ottawa in 2010.

Reunion History

The Huron Association holds a reunion every year. The 2008 reunion was held in Woodstock, Ontario and the 2009 Reunion was in Chatham, Ontario.

It is always a good chance to reminisce about days gone by and renew old friendships. Wives and/or partners are invited to attend.

All members, including associate members, are invited and encouraged to attend the reunions - it is what keeps our Association strong.
