HMCS Huron Association
Helping Shipmates Stay In Touch

Welcome to the home page of HMCS Huron Association.  This web site is designed to provide those who served in G24, DDE216 and DDH281 and their families information about the Association and its activities.

The first Huron reunion was held in Victoria, British Columbia in September 1981.  John McCartney worked hard for several years finding members of the ship's company. He got the crew organized and the Association was underway.

Some members were part of the commissioning crew at Newcastle-On-Tyne in July of 1943, others joined the ship during the remainder of World War II.  Some served in Huron during her tours of duty during the Korean War.  Others served in her during peace-keeping and NATO operations.

During the past twenty-six years of meetings and reunions, a strong fellowship has developed among the membership that has also included wives and families.
